The Weekend Novelist, Robert J. Ray, recommends writing a discovery draft to learn the story, a meditation draft to highlight the themes and cut extraneous material, and a final draft to clean up the language

Blueprint your Bestseller: Organize and Revise Any Manuscript with the Book Architecture Method, Stuart Horowitz, describes a method for getting from the discovery draft to the meditation draft


Writing Excuses  four hosts write fantasy, horror, science fiction, and alternate history, so a lot of the podcasts are directed at genre fiction, but there’s a ton of good all-around writing advice

Write It Forward 

Ja Konrath  what’s going on with the whole publishing industry; worth reading the comments on some of the blog posts

Hugh C. Howey  good insight into the whole publishing industry; puts out the author earnings reports quarterly; good info scraped from amazon website to determine author / price trends
